It is important that you get used to a cleaning routine that will help you keep your house clean and tidy. Make a cleaning schedule for every day you follow; so you don’t have to spend the whole day scrubbing or cleaning up. At the weekends you will automatically have a lot more time to spend with your family and friends.

Today I give you my cleaning plan to keep my house clean and tidy. It is very simple and easy to implement, you just have to be consistent behind it. Consequence is the key, stick to it and this task will soon become a habit.

1:- Take off your shoes at the door

If you want to clean less and keep your house cleaner, take off your shoes right at the door before you enter your apartment or house. This habit will save you a lot of time that you would otherwise spend cleaning. I have shoe rack at the door, where I and my family just put our shoes off. This shoe rack is very helpful, especially in winter and in rainy weather, where your shoes can dry well.

If you take off your shoes directly at the door, you prevent sand, dirt and dirt from being carried in from the outside. If you don’t already do it this way, you should start introducing this habit today. It can save you so much valuable time everyday!

2:- Make Beds:

Making beds right at the beginning of the day in important. It helps you to start your day optimally and calmly.

Every morning I open the blinds and let the sun in. I shake the blanket a little and knock it back. Now the bed can air a little before I do it. Dust mites like warm and humid climates. Also, remember to wash your bedding regularly, because that is also important to combat dust mites.

3:- Wash a load of laundry every day

I was a load of laundry every day so as not to suddenly sink into the mountains of laundry. I have a few laundry baskets in the house where I already sort the laundry. When I see that there is enough laundry, I immediately start a washing machine.

Of course, that’s just a goal. You may also have a lot less laundry. Then you only wash every 2-3 days.

What do I want to tell you? Try to avoid mountains of laundry and keep your house clean and tidy. This can be helpful if you have a small house or apartment.

Personally, I can’t have it when a mountain of laundry is waiting for me at the weekend and I’m only doing laundry and drying all day. It just makes me happier to think about the laundry regularly than to spend houses a day a week doing it.

4:- Dust, vacuum and wipe once a week:

As a minimalist family, we don’t spend a lot of time dusting or vacuuming. Less furniture and organized home give us the opportunity to use our valuable time more effectively.

If you have pets and young children, you may need to vacuum more often. And remember to always dust fist and vacuum. I like to use microfiber cloths for dusting.

Now you vacuum all the rooms and wipe right after, so you have the security of having really removed all dirt and dust. Get an efficient and high-quality vacuum cleaner, because this will help you to shorten the cleaning time and get the job done efficiently.

5:- Wipe Immediately:

Although I really don’t vacuum every day, I have to make sure that busy rooms such as the dining room and kitchen are clean every day.

After eating, I remove crumbs from under the dining table and when I see crumbs or stains on the kitchen floor, I wipe them up immediately. It is always easier to remove the dirt immediately than to let it accumulate.

If you clear or wipe everything right away while cooking, you automatically keep your home clean and organized. Clear away the clutter and wash the dishes. Clear or remove the dishwasher while cooking and wipe the sink and the surfaces immediately after cooking.

The same applies to the bathroom: wipe the washbasin immediately after brushing your teeth. All of this little habit only last a few minutes, but they keep your house clean and tidy.

6:- Put things away:

Every time you leave a room, you should look around and check what is lying around and needs to be cleaned up. Put things back in place as you go. Place a basket on the stairs, put everything that needs to be on the upper floor and the next time you have to go up the stairs, just take the basket with you and clean up the things that have accumulated in it.

Create order in every room you leave, when you get up from the couch, straighten the pillows or blanket.

When the children are done with their homework, remind them to put their things away.

A tidy home is a great feel-good factor; just make these points your habit!

7:- Regularly muck out

Mucking our regularly is one of the most effective ways to keep your home in order. Get rid of all the things you no longer need. Sell or give away useful items and dispose of the broken things.

I don’t sell things anymore because I know I don’t have time to deal with them, I used to keep this stuff forever because I thought I would sell it someday. But unfortunately that never happened. I kept these things here and at some point I was surprised that my rooms were overcrowded. That annoyed me, I prefer to give things away or donate them to charity.

8:- Keep surfaces clean and free

Clean up every day and keep all surfaces free, a tidy or clear surface of a chest of drawers is much easier to dust and clean. You don’t have to clear everything first, you can start right away.

I know this tip is not always easy, I also put something here and there, but then you go through your room every day and put those things away.

Take the dirty dishes from you counter-top or counter and put them in the dishwasher. Short your mail and put away your papers.

Children always bring their works of art and handicrafts home with them, often these things have piled up with me. Pick up a box or storage box to collect everything in, or hang some of these pieces of art on the wall.

This makes everything a lot more homely but remove; everything from your closets and surfaces.

9:- Clear away dishes and wipe counters:

Don’t leave the dirty dishes all day, rinse it straight away or put it in the dishwasher. You can also run the dishwasher at night and then clear it out in the morning. This routine keeps your kitchen clean and tidy.

Then clean your sink and wipe all worktops and the stove-tops immediately after use. Develop a cleaning routine so that your kitchen is always nice and clean.

10:- Bring the garbage out regularly:

I know not how you’re doing, but I’m bringing the garbage out every day. So I always have a good feeling, because it can’t smell, which could happen more often in summer.

11:- Clean the toilet:

Wipe your toilet every day. You can use an extra rag or disposable towel as you like. I wipe the toilet every morning, the seat, the top and bottom of the lid and the rim. Don’t forget to also regularly clean the floor around the toilet.

I don’t have a cleaning routine for the toilet bowl. As soon as I notice that it is dirty, it is cleaned. You can use vinegar cleaner for this, let it soak in and later clean it with the toilet brush. It won’t take long and your toilet will sparkle like new again!

Final Thoughts:

If you stick to the cleaning routines mentioned above and only do a few small things every day, your house will always be clean and tidy. Some of these routine really only take a few seconds, but later you will simply have more time for yourself.

If you work full time, keeping your house clean can be a challenge, but if you stick to your daily and weekly cleaning schedule, you will find that it is not that difficult.

If you feel overwhelmed by my tips, it enough if you only adopt 1-2 cleaning habits for the first three weeks.

This is not a problem; you can then expand the routine at any time later.

Even if you have children, you can have a clean and tidy house. Teach them to put things away after use. You may want to organize your home with storage compartments and baskets or boxes. Label these to make it easier for the children to clean up themselves.
